Machine Inserter Operator
Description
JOB SUMMARY:
To provide finished or unfinished product from printed material by setting up and operating the lettershop equipment
to the job specifications provided on the docket.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Education: Post secondary degree and/or any relevant training or apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
Experience: Minimal to no experience required. Incumbent will be trained on the job.
Skills: · Work well as a team member · Must be able to read and understand all written instructions provided on the docket · Must be able to produce quality work · Must be able to give and take direction when required
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Adhere to Health and Safety Policy and to report all unsafe and unhealthy work conditions.
2. To produce quality work effectively and efficiently.
3. Responsibility for the set-up, running and safe operation of inserters, inkjet printers, clip-
sealer/labelers and folders. Maintain down-time to a minimum, inform management of such.
4. Responsible for regular maintenance, trouble-shooting, parts inventory and training of operators of the
above equipment.
5. Responsible for the general cleanliness and organization of the work area. Perform predictive and
preventative maintenance of all lettershop machines in accordance with lead mechanic and AIIM
policies. During slow periods, we may ask you to work in other departments.
6. Must adhere to job insertion specifications, AIIM produces multiple variety of Direct Mail projects that
requires precision assembly. Organization is a must. Document production in accordance with AIIM’s
job costing system.
7. Ensure that all jobs are properly skid packed, boxed and labeled or properly prepared for Canada Post.
8. Follow all docket instructions.
9. Data collection to be entered into the computer completely and accurately.
10. Work in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario.
